Campus Safety

For security purposes, entrances to all residence halls are locked 24 hours a day and can only be accessed by residents of those buildings.
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is on duty 24 hours a day, and regularly patrols around campus buildings and surroundings. DPS provides an array of safety and security services throughout the campus, and are available to provide escorts as well as to respond to emergencies. You may contact the Department of Public Safety by calling 202-319-5111 or extension 5111 from any campus phone.
It is recommended guests use good judgment when walking at night, as one would in any large city. Emergency phones with blue lights highlighting their position are located throughout campus with direct access to emergency assistance.
In case of emergency, please call 202-319-5111 or extension 5111 from any campus phone.
