About the Edward J. Pryzbyla Center

The Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center, completed in March of 2003, is located at the heart of The Catholic University of America's campus and serves as the center for both the University community and campus visitors. "The Pryz," as it is has been nicknamed by students, is a favorite location for campus activities. The Pryzbyla Center Great Room has been the venue for a wide variety of events including concerts, live stage performances, public forums, and lectures. From live music in the Pryz Food Court to frisbee on the west lawn to Starbucks' Open Mic Nights, there is always something fun and interesting to do in The Pryz!

On April 17, 2008, our most honored guest, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, spoke to more than 500 invited guests in the Great Room and greeted cheering students of the University from the Pryzbyla Center steps. Catholic University has also entertained a variety of other notable guests in the Pryz including clergy, church leaders, and members of congress, as well as George Stephanopoulos, Jon Voight, Tim Russert and B. J. Novak.

The Pryz is home to student organization offices, the Office of the Dean of Students, Pryz Food Court, Starbucks, and the campus convenience store and more.  The Information Desk is located on the second floor and can provide helpful information about campus and Pryz happenings. The Pryz also provides a variety of lounge spaces, vending machines and wireless internet access for the University community and guests, making it a popular spot for both study sessions and study breaks.
